Hilary Lucienne Magacs joined Taylor & Knight, GP in 2018. She concentrates her practice in the area of General Civil Litigation, including Civil and Constitutional Rights Litigation, Governmental Defense Litigation, Employment Law, Insurance Defense Litigation, and Personal Injury.

Originally from Binghamton, NY, she graduated from the State University of New York at Cortland with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. She then obtained her Masters of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University and promptly headed south for warmer weather. Hilary worked as a reporter in West Virginia, North Carolina, and Knoxville, Tennessee before deciding to attend law school at the University of Tennessee College of Law.

During law school, Hilary was the recipient of the Randall & Cynthia Hafer Advocacy Scholarship the Daniel H. Testerman Memorial Scholarship. She also received awards for her work in Legal Process II, Contract Drafting, Civil Pre-Trial Litigation, Commercial Leasing, and Images of the Law. Additionally, Hilary was the recipient of the Charles H. Miller Civil Advocacy Award for outstanding achievement in advocacy and was published in the Tennessee Journal of Business Law, were she also worked as a staff member.

When she’s not at work, Hilary enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family, including her fiancé and two cats. She is also an avid runner and has completed eight full marathons.
